Publishing a book had always been a dream of mine. Seeing my words on paper knowing others will read it too excited me. My dreams have become a reality check.

Here is what I’ve learned:

One, I am a storyteller, not an editor, a proofreader, formatter, or any of that professional shit.

Two, you absolutely DO need an editor, formatter, proofreader, and that other professional shit.

Three, not everyone is going to like you or your story. Yes, I said you! Stories carry emotions, feelings, and opinions that some readers make exclusive to the writer even if it is a work of fiction.

Four, write for you. There’s no way to please everyone and you must accept that. Write the stories YOU wanna tell and your audience who appreciates it will come. In other words, stay in your lane and believe in yourself.

Five, the ultimate lesson I have learned. PROMOTE YOUR WORK!! If you don’t, who will? Even if you hire book promoters you should still be promoting your own work. If you’re not even backing your own work up, why would anyone want to read it? Better yet, how would most people even know about it?

It’s been a good while since I’ve posted on here and that’s because aside from giving birth to a healthy baby boy who came one month early a year ago(yes, this is my way of announcing that my baby boy is one now lol!), I’ve been penning down some fire.

If dark and twisted, forced-love, and danger lurking type of urban fiction speaks to you then check me out on Amazon! Legacy of a Good Girl Gone Bad parts 1&2 By yours truly, Nycole B. ❤️🔥
